3 ripe bananas, sliced

1 cup vanilla pudding mix

2 cups milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 box (12 oz) vanilla wafers

Optional: Dark chocolate shavings for garnish

In a medium bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and milk. Continue whisking for about 2 minutes until the mixture thickens. Add the vanilla extract and stir to combine.

    In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.

      Gently fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture until combined.

        In a 9x13 baking dish, create the first layer by arranging a layer of vanilla wafers at the bottom.

          Next, place half of the sliced bananas over the wafers.

            Spread half of the pudding mixture over the bananas, smoothing it out evenly.

              Repeat the layering process: add another layer of vanilla wafers, remaining bananas, and top with the rest of the pudding mixture.

                Finish with a final layer of vanilla wafers on top. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

                  Just before serving, if desired, garnish with dark chocolate shavings for an elegant touch.
