Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)

1 packet (2¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast

1 cup whole milk, warmed (not hot)

½ cup granulated sugar

½ cup unsalted butter, melted (plus more for greasing)

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

½ cup brown sugar, packed

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)

2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened (optional for frosting)

3–4 tablespoons milk (for frosting)

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, granulated sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

In another large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, salt, and vanilla extract. Add the frothy yeast mixture and stir until combined.

Gradually add in the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

While the dough rises, mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 16x12 inches).

Spread melted butter over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly across the surface.

Starting from the long side, carefully roll the dough tightly into a log. Pinch the edges to seal.

Slice the log into 12-15 equally sized rolls. Place them in a greased baking dish, leaving space between each roll.

Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Let them cool slightly while you prepare the frosting.

In a mixing bowl, beat together powdered sugar, softened cream cheese (if using), and milk until smooth and creamy. Adjust the milk quantity to reach your desired consistency.

Drizzle the frosting over the warm cinnamon rolls before serving.
