Instructions
In a medium skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of the butter over medium heat.
Add the sliced bananas and brown sugar to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring gently, until the bananas are caramelized and tender. Remove from heat and set aside.
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat and add the remaining tablespoon of butter.
Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated.
Place the soaked bread into the heated skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crisp.
Once the French toast is cooked, transfer it to a serving plate. Top generously with the caramelized bananas from the skillet.
Drizzle with maple syrup and sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired for added crunch.
