Prepare Tofu: Start by cutting the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes. Pat them dry carefully with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Coat Tofu: Place the cornstarch in a bowl and coat the tofu cubes evenly. Shake off any excess cornstarch. This will help create a crispy exterior.
Fry Tofu: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the tofu cubes in a single layer. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
Prepare Sauce: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir continuously until the mixture is hot and slightly thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
Glaze Tofu: Once the sauce is ready, add the crispy tofu back into the skillet over low heat. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the tofu and gently toss to coat all pieces evenly. Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the tofu to absorb the flavors.
Serve: Once coated, remove the tofu from the heat. Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
Notes
Ensure the tofu is well-pressed to achieve maximum crispiness.
