Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with the granulated sugar using an electric mixer until fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, mix in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once baked, remove from the oven and let the cupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
In a bowl, mix the creamy peanut butter with the powdered sugar. Gradually add the heavy cream until you achieve a smooth, spreadable consistency.
Once the cupcakes have cooled completely, spread or pipe the peanut butter frosting generously on top of each cupcake.
If desired, sprinkle chocolate chips on top of the frosted cupcakes for an extra touch of indulgence.
Notes
Arrange the cupcakes on a decorative platter and consider adding a drizzle of chocolate sauce on top for an extra decadent look!
