Ingredients

1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

3 cups broccoli florets

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium if preferred)

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon brown sugar

Salt and pepper to taste

Sesame seeds for garnish

Cooked rice (for serving)

Instructions

In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with cornstarch, soy sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let it marinate for 15 minutes while prepping other ingredients.

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, stir-frying for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add the broccoli florets to the skillet, stirring frequently for about 3-4 minutes until they're tender-crisp.

Return the beef to the skillet. Stir in the oyster sauce, sesame oil, and brown sugar. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more salt or pepper if needed.

Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
