Instructions
Prepare the Chicken Wings: Start by patting the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This helps achieve a crispy texture when baked. Season with salt and pepper.
Make the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, apple cider vinegar, sesame oil, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Whisk until well combined.
Marinate the Wings: Place the chicken wings in a large resealable plastic bag or a bowl. Pour the marinade over the wings, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag (or cover the bowl) and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight for the best flavor.
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
Bake the Wings: Remove the wings from the marinade, allowing any excess liquid to drip off. Spread them out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
Glaze the Wings: While the wings bake, pour the remaining marinade into a small saucepan and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
Coat and Serve: Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and brush them with the thickened marinade for extra flavor. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes for a sticky finish.
Garnish: Remove the wings from the oven, sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
